About Milk Pads
Reusable, Leak proof, Non Slip - Breast Pads
For me it's all about providing a quality product that works. When I was breast feeding all I had was disposable pads and cotton pads. The cotton pads leaked through and stayed wet against my nipples - which later I found out can cause nasty thrush. Disposables end up getting very expensive and bad for the environment. Feed back has been fabulous over the years,I've had loads of ladies chuck out their old pads to use Milk Pads - because they work.
Milk Pads all have water proof, breathable, non slip backing. Inner of absorbent microfibre and topped with super soft suede cloth that wicks away the milk - leaving the breast area dry.
How the Everday Milk Pads work:
The first layer of soft Suede cloth wicks the milk through to the absorbent Microfibre part of the Milk Pad. Because Suede Cloth doesn't absorb moisture this allows your nipple to stay dry and comfortable.
The absorbent layer is Microfibre, Microfibre is a highly absorbent fabric and light weight!! Lastly you are protected by a layer of leak proof PUL- (a breathable fabric that modern cloth nappies are made from).
Because they are so light weight, drying time is super fast!! Once they start to feel heavy it's time to change them. Each sale comes with easy to use washing instructions.
SUPER SOAKER MILK PADS:
This pad has an extra absorbency layer of microfibre, it is a little more thicker than the regular Milk Pad, but still light weight. Most woman find that the regular Milk Pad is fine for their milk leakage but for a few heavy leakers or those whose babies are just starting to sleep through the night you may find the Super Soaker works best for you. They have been tested by six nursing mothers with leakage issues at nighttime. The feed back that came back was fabulous. Mothers were happy to be able to not sleep with a towel on the bed and wake up feeling dry.
ULTIMATE NIGHT PAD:
For some the leakage is huge, one of the lovely ladies who trialed the Super Soaker for me had an old nipple piercing on one breast. The Super Soaker worked fine for the un-pierced side, but she still had to go to bed with towel under her for the pierced side leaked way to much. I send her a Ultimate Night Pad and she has been able to sleep with out any towels since!! (Please check out her feed back on the review page) This pad is made with a layer of micorfibre and 2 layers of bamboo fleece, topped with soft suede cloth and backed with water proof PUL. It is more bulky than the regular Milk Pad and takes a lot longer to dry once washed. If you want the Ultimate protection then this Milk Pad is for you.
With Milk Pads you can feel rest assured that you are protected !! With an outer fabric of Breathable Waterproof PUL - (What modern cloth nappies are made from) you can wash this fabric in cold, warm or hot washes. I highly recommend hot washes, and using a laundry bag. You will get at least hundreds of washes before they start to show signs of wear.
I recommend having more than one pair - (just in case!!) You can tumble dry, drying out on the line in sunshine is best. Once you notice that your Milk Pad is feeling heavy it is time to get a clean pair.
You can save lots of money and be kind to the environment, by using Milk Pads , made here in New Zealand by me in my workshop on my industrial sewing machine.
